Katie and Karleigh interview up and coming singer Katelyn Tarver.
K&K: How did you get started in the music industry?
Katelyn: Well I always loved to sing, but I'm from a really small town so it was never really an option. But when auditions came for a show called " American Juniors" I knew I had to audition. "American Juniors" was a show like American Idol but for younger kids. I ended up making the top 10 and fell in love with performing! It's been my dream to be a singer ever since.
K&K: What has influenced you musically?
Katelyn: Oh it seems like I listen to every genre of music! I'm a huge fan of everyone from The Doobie Brothers to John Mayer to Christina Aguilera to Joy Williams to The Supremes ....they've all influenced me in some way.
K&K: What’s your favorite song to perform?
Katelyn: Anything upbeat! I have a new song called "Disappear" that's really fun to perform. I love just running and jumping across the stage hah.
K&K: If you could tour with anyone who would that be?
Katelyn: Well I did some shows with the Jonas Brothers in the past and they were really fun so I've always wanted to tour with them again. Or Taylor Swift. We could do like a pop and country tour! Haha.
K&K: What does the next year look like for you?
Katelyn: Really exciting! I'm hoping to get out and start touring very soon, release an EP, write and record more songs, ..everything!
K&K: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Katelyn: Headlining my sold out tour!! :) .....I hope to be a singer making music that people love and are inspired by. ..Gosh I'll be 23! That's crazy.... haha.
K&K: Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
